Manchester Citizens Regional Youth Assembly
Posted 7th July 2025
On Friday 4 July our students played a significant part in this assembly, opening the assembly with our choir followed by lots of personal testimonies!
The students were able to deliver their asks and speak to lots of important people such as Deputy Mayor of Manchester, Kate Green, and Chief of Police for Greater Manchester!
The students represented the school beautifully, being a respectful and supportive audience. We managed to get a large number of students on this trip, many of which were not part of our school council!
A big thank you to Emily, Aimee, Hannah and Pauline who came along to watch and support the event! The students were so excited to have us in the crowd.
The School Choir
Keaton led as our incredible Co-Chair and narrated the entire event with confidence and enthusiasm, setting the tone for a powerful evening. We kicked off with an opening roll call led by Samarpreet and Rayne.
Abiah shared a moving testimony on hate and discrimination, followed by Alaina's heartfelt words on mental health.
Jewel, Isabelle W.B and Lilly P gave compelling testimonies on the importance of safety in public spaces, rounding out an evening full of impactful voices and powerful messages.
