Pi Day

14 March was Pi Day - so called because in the USA the date would be written 3-14, which are the first 3 digits of the number Pi. In honour of this, students had "Pi-themed" lessons where they learned about the history of the number and how it is used to calculate the circumference of a circle. We also had a competition to memorise the digits of Pi with our top student in Year 8 memorising 108 digits!
