Uniform

Dress code

As with all schools, our academy has a dress code that all students are expected to follow. There is an emphasis on being clean, tidy and presentable. Our dress code is unique, but practical, and allows a choice within very clear boundaries.

We offer financial support to purchase the compulsory aspects of the uniform where required.

School uniform 

• All students must wear full length, straight leg tailored black trousers
• Trousers must be straight and must not be Lycra, denim or similar stretchy material. (No jeans, tracksuit bottoms, leggings, flares, yoga pants, cargo, canvas or linens).
• Students must wear a plain, white polo shirt. Students can wear the academy polo shirt if they choose. 
• Students must wear the academy jumper in either green, grey or black (can be purchased from Debonair Schoolwear). Students can choose the colour of their school jumper.  
• Hijabs, scarves, turbans, crowns and top knots, worn for religious reasons, must be plain, black (with no additional design / embellishment) and well secured.  
• Socks should be plain black or white, decoration such as frills or bows or other other decoration on socks are not permitted. 
• Our academy varsity jacket is optional. 

Shoes

• Footwear must be sensible and entirely black. Laces must be plain black. All footwear should be flat. Boots are unacceptable. There cannot be any coloured logos on footwear than black.  

PE kit  

• Students must wear a plain, white polo shirt or a plain, white round neck t-shirt.
• Students must wear our academy zipped training top.  
• Students must wear either our academy jogging bottoms or the academy PE shorts with plain black leggings or skins underneath.
• If the academy PE shorts are being worn in place of the academy jogging bottoms, plain black skins or leggings must be worn underneath.
• Socks should be plain black or white, decoration such as frills or bows on socks are not permitted. 
• Students must wear suitable sports trainers. High tops and other fashion trainers are not allowed.  

Optional PE kit  

• Students may wear academy PE shorts under their academy jogging bottoms.  

Other  

• Students will be provided with a lanyard, name badge and key for their locker which they must wear at all times. 
• All outdoor wear including jackets, scarves, gloves or hoodies are not to be worn whilst in the school building. They must be placed in lockers at the start of the day. 
• No extreme hair styles such as shaved patterns or stripes. Hair should not be unnatural in colour.
• Students can wear a suitable, plain watch (not a smart watch).
• No jewellery is permitted apart from one set of small, round stud earrings no more than 0.5mm in diameter. Hoop earrings are not allowed.
• No nose studs, tongue studs or other visible piercings. New piercings must be removed or replaced with a plastic retainer. 
• Make up, if worn, should be entirely discreet. No nail varnish, gel or acrylic nails at any time.  
• Students who choose to wear false lashes that are excessive will be expected to remove them.
• Students are allowed one plain, black hair accessory.
