Golden tickets

Golden tickets are a key part of how we celebrate and recognise exceptional effort at Dixons Newall Green Academy. Awarded just once per lesson, they are reserved for students who demonstrate outstanding hard work, resilience, and determination.

Golden tickets aren’t given for simply doing what's expected, like holding a door or answering a question. We believe kindness and consistent effort are the baseline for everyone. This isn’t a transactional system either, it’s not about asking, "If I do X, will I get a Golden Ticket?" They are earned through genuine excellence, not routine participation.

Because golden tickets are rare and meaningful, they hold real value. As teachers, we talk about them often, we ask students, "Have you earned a golden ticket today?" And because of that, our students take real pride in receiving one.
