Our house system
At Dixons Newall Green Academy, our house system is at the heart of school life, fostering community, teamwork, and pride. Every student belongs to one of five houses: Scafell Pike, Snowden, Catbells, Ben Lomand, and Ben Nevis.
Throughout the year, students take part in a wide variety of house events and competitions, from sports and academic challenges to creative and charitable activities. Students earn points for their house and celebrate individual achievements, building a sense of belonging and accomplishment.
The house system is led by student house representatives and house captains, who organise events, motivate peers, and represent the student voice. This structure encourages healthy competition, collaboration, leadership development, and meaningful connections across year groups.
Belonging to a house means being part of something bigger, where every student can lead, contribute, and take pride in their achievements and those of their house.
